Unite Group says it is the UK’s largest owner, manager and developer of purpose-built student accommodation. It was founded in Bristol in 1991 and runs two brands: Unite Students, aimed mainly at first-year students, and Hello Student, aimed at later-year, postgraduate and international students. Its registered office is in Bristol and it also has a London office.

The company says it is partnered with more than 60 UK universities and offers them bespoke accommodation arrangements, research and a monthly podcast on student housing. Universities named on its site include Newcastle University, with which it describes a partnership, and Liverpool John Moores University, Middlesex University, Birmingham City University and the University of Westminster, which selected students for a food voucher pilot run with Aldi. Student support includes a 24/7 wellbeing helpline provided with Endsleigh Insurance.
