The 15 functioning AIIMS across India, as well as other major medical government colleges like Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore and Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, are among the greatest names among these colleges.

1. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

AIIMS, New Delhi (All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi) is a public hospital and medical research university in New Delhi, India. The AIIMS Act of 1956 governs the institute, which is run independently by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

It was established by the state of Uttar Pradesh as a centre of excellence for offering world-class medical care, education, and research. The institute is located 15 kilometres from the city centre on a 550-acre (22-square-kilometre) site on Raebareli Road.
