A week before the decision came, the members of Telangana Parents Association arranged a meeting with State Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy regarding the reopening of offline classes. Following this, the CM had a high-level meeting with Ministers and District Collectors on Monday at Pragathi Bhavan.

The schools will reopen for classes 9th onwards while 1s to 5th-grade students will get a direct promotion to the next grade. The colleges will resume classes for all courses.

SOPs to abide by (per the guidelines from the Centre)

1. The authorities should ensure the sanitisation of schools and colleges premises, with 1% sodium hypochlorite solution. They should pay special attention to most-used surfaces and areas.

2. Wearing masks and sanitising hands at regular intervals is mandatory.

3. The authorities should check the body temperature through thermal scanning. They should immediately ask the students or staffs to leave if they find symptoms of cold or cough.

4. There should be a 6 feet distance in schools premises and classes.

5. The schools should install hand sanitisers at various places, especially at the entrance.

In its previous decision, the state planned to go for a trial by conducting intermediate classes for 120 days. The plan did not work. However, this time the classes will resume in full scale.
