New government colleges can now get university affiliation by applying online in Uttar Pradesh

Affiliated colleges can also get clearance for beginning new courses via the online mode.

TED NewsDesk, Uttar Pradesh: In a decision taken on Wednesday, easing the functioning of colleges, the government of Uttar Pradesh has made it possible for new colleges to get their university affiliation by applying online. The UP government has also provided the already affiliated colleges to be able to begin new courses by applying for clearance online.

The government hopes to make the process more transparent and honest by making it online. According to the Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma, who also take care of the Higher Education Department profile.

He said, “For existing colleges to take NOC to start new courses and for the new colleges to secure university affiliation, the process has been made online.”

The process of online affiliation will start from the next session of 2021-2022, said Sharma. He added that before the decision, the issuance of the No Objection Certificate used to be an offline process, now it is all online. He also said that even the minority educational institutions can now obtain NOCs by applying via the online process.

Sharma said, “Now the application can be made online to the concerned university along with all the necessary documents and the concerned university will issue the NOC after that.”

As per the Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department, Monica Garg, a deadline has been decided by which the distribution of online NOCs and affiliation applications. The last date for the online application for the new courses for the session 2021-2022 has been set to December 31st, 2020. This date has been kept keeping in mind the COVID-19 pandemic. For the university, the last date for application is April 15th, 2021.

Making the application process for affiliation and new courses online will make the system more transparent and easy to maintain.
