TED NewsDesk, Maharashtra: The Maharashtra government announced the beginning of digital classes to teach a common language from Monday. The students of First Year Junior-College (11th grade) will get assistance through training in the English language from next week.
The classes will be for 3 hours. The state facilitated the FYJC students from Arts, Commerce and Science with a session for a common language, as per Mr Dinkar Patil, Education Director, Maharashtra.
The classes will take place on the Zoom app, where 50 admitted students from various colleges can attend them daily. They will adopt rotational symmetry to nominate the students for the classes every day. The government of Maharashtra elected 80 educators to ensure the smooth running of the process.
With the Supreme Court halting the further proceedings concerning the matter of Maratha quota in education and government jobs, the students are awaiting action regarding admission to get over their state of uncertainty. As a result, the registration process of FYJC students has come to a halt.
Students who enrolled themselves previously irrespective of the Maratha reservation section are permissible to join online classes from Monday. Post the order of SC the state moved to the larger bench of the Court.
In its previous cabinet meeting, the state government focussed on the topic of Maratha quota and of FYJC enrollment. However, it is yet to reach a specific decision.
” We have got a legal opinion from Attorney General on this issue, we have discussed this issue with CM of Maharashtra in the cabinet, within next 2-3 days he will take the final decision,” said State Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad.
Talking about the plan to reopen school after Diwali, Gaikwad said, “Our priority is to start classes of 9th std to 12th std considering the importance of this academic year. But the safety of students is important for us, and we will take a call after monitoring the situation.”
The online classes will provide relief to the 11th graders who secured admission before the stay order. The rest are still in a hope to receive some favourable decision from the state.
