Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence, known as Shiv Nadar University, is a multidisciplinary research university in the Delhi National Capital Region. It was established in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL Group and the Shiv Nadar Foundation. The Ministry of Education recognised it as an Institution of Eminence on 3 August 2022, and it describes itself as an Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University.
The university has four schools, Engineering, Natural Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Management and Entrepreneurship, plus an Academy of Continuing Education. Its NIRF 2026 data submission reports 3,428 students in degree programmes in 2024-25, plus 515 PhD students. Shikhar Malhotra is Chancellor and Professor Ananya Mukherjee is Vice-Chancellor.
