Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology is a deemed to be university in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956. Its founder chancellor, Dr. Jeppiaar, established Sathyabama Engineering College in 1988. In July 2026 the institution said it was entering its 26th year as a deemed to be university.
It offers programmes in engineering, science, technology, law, dental science, pharmacy, nursing, management, arts and science and allied health sciences. NAAC has accredited it with an A++ grade, and the UGC has graded it a Category I university under its 2018 graded autonomy regulations. Dr. B. Sheela Rani is Vice Chancellor.
