Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune is a deemed to be university established by the University Grants Commission under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, by a notification dated 11 January 2003. The UGC granted it Category-I status by a letter dated 20 April 2018.
The university has 14 constituent units covering medicine, dentistry, nursing, physiotherapy, optometry, biotechnology, management, ayurved, homeopathy, design, allied health sciences, liberal arts, science and technology, online learning and skill development. NAAC accredited it in its third cycle at A++ with a CGPA of 3.64 on 8 February 2022, valid until 7 February 2029. Its NIRF 2026 data submission reports 5,346 UG and PG students and 575 full-time PhD scholars in 2024-25.
