Amity University Uttar Pradesh, the Noida university listed by NIRF as Amity University, was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh through the Amity University Uttar Pradesh Act, 2005 (UP Act No. 11 of 2005), according to a Lok Sabha answer reproduced on its website. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission. Its leadership page lists Dr. Ashok K. Chauhan as Founder President of the Ritnand Balved Education Foundation.
In its NIRF 2025 data submission the university reported 32,735 students on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and 2,943 PhD students (904 full-time and 2,039 part-time). The Amity website lists campuses across India and, under ‘Amity Global Campuses’, locations in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Tashkent, Singapore, Mauritius, South Africa and Amsterdam. It does not state their legal relationship to the Noida university.
