All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar is a medical college and teaching hospital in Khordha district, Odisha. According to its website, it was established in 2012 under Phase 1 of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana to provide patient care, education and research training. The Ministry of Education lists it among Institutions of National Importance under the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956, with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare as its ministry.
Its NIRF 2026 data submission reports 1,416 students in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in 2024-25, plus 14 full-time and 4 part-time PhD students. Prof. (Dr.) Ashutosh Biswas took charge as Executive Director and CEO on 21 July 2022 after about 30 years at AIIMS New Delhi.
