Increasing Covid cases lead Himachal Pradesh government to close schools till February 2021

November 26, 2020.

TED NewsDesk, Himachal Pradesh: Owing to the surge in the number of COVID-19 cases in Himachal Pradesh, the government decided to shut down all the educational institutions till December 31. The government announced on Monday. The state also directed to shut the schools during the winter from January 1 to February 12, 2021.

Meanwhile, the classes will begin on digital platforms from November 26 and will continue during the winter vacations too. The Himachal Pradesh government also ordered the teaching staffs of the government schools to work from home.

Apart from this, the government also initiated steps to contain the spread of Coronavirus like implementing curfew at night. Shimla, Mandi, Kangra and Kullu are some of the districts where the curfew will be imposed from November 24 to December 15. Besides, the offices will work voluntarily, where only 50 per cent of the total strength will be permissible. The government offices will allow only Class 3 and Class 4 staffs.

The state recorded 13 deaths due to Covid on Wednesday. Currently, there are 36, 566 cases of Coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh.
