Good news for Indian skill seekers: NSDC plans to offer 200 free courses

The duration of the courses will range from 2 to 30 hours.

TED NewsDesk, New Delhi: In collaboration with California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) plans to facilitate skill seekers with 200 free courses in India. The association will lead to the incorporation of eSkillIndia.org with CSULB’s Platform- MERLOT and Skills Commons to spread online education amongst the youngsters.

The courses will include various fields such as healthcare, management, finance, information technology, employability skills etc. These courses will help the trainers to level up their skills. According to NSDC, the courses will provide complete online content of a total of 900 hours between the range of two to thirty hours.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said, “Online learning is paving the way for digital transformation. NSDC is facilitating the acquisition of online skills, which can help realise the immense potential of youth to leverage existing as well as emerging opportunities.”

NSDC launched the online skilling scheme eSkillIndia. Currently, eSkillIndia runs with 825 online courses from its associates. It further provides over 4000 courses, in multiple languages, linked through affiliate channels across different sectors.
