Classes 11 and 12 to restart in Karnataka schools from January 1st.

The news of reopening of senior secondary schools was given by the state Education Minister S Suresh Kumar.

TED NewsDesk, Karnataka: The Karnataka government has decided to modify its old order to include classes 10 and 12 as well. In their earlier decision, the government had ordered for schools for class 10, Vidyagama programme and second pre-university to be held regularly.

The Minister for primary and secondary education, S Suresh Kumar announced the reopening of class 10th and 12th as well. Apart from classes 10th and 12th, secondary classes fro 6th to 9th will also open from January 1st.

As the news about a new strain of the Coronavirus has resurfaced in Britain, the Karnataka government is on its toes with regards to maintaining the safety of the people.

On Sunday, Karnataka had 911 new Coronavirus cases and 11 fatalities. With the new cases, Karnataka has reached a total of 9,16,256 Coronavirus cases and 12,062 deaths so far.

Keeping the pandemic in mind, Kumar said that it is not compulsory to attend regular classes, that it depends on the parents and the students. He said, “If the parents and students are comfortable with the online classes they can study from home.”

Kumar added that the government is always ready to take heed of the instructions by the Technical Advisory Committee.
