Bill Gates says in one of his articles that he prioritizes books that he would have loved reading as a child. He preferred fiction at that time. And as time flew and he got older, he jumped onto non- fictional. His favorite authors were Robert Heinlein and Edgar Rice Burroughs. Well, he chooses 5 favorite books in his list to be read by everyone in 2021. 

1. A thousand brains- A new theory of intelligence ( by Jeff Hawkins)

If you’re a pure science fictionist, this book is for you. This book will offer a whole new fascinating theory of artificial intelligence.

This book explains how Hawkins mended neuroscience into machine learning forming a theory around artificial intelligence. It’s worth reading for you fiction lovers.

2. The code breaker- Jennifer Doudna, gene editing and the future of the human race. ( by Walter Isaacson)

Gene editing has always been a mysterious yet interesting topic everyone prefers to heed.

CRISPR is one among them and Isaacson has done wonders explaining the theories and questions around this project making it yet more convincing and interesting.

3. Klara and the sun( by kazuo ishiguro)

This book illustrates a world of companionship with robots and even lets us question ourselves of a world where robots might conquer the world.

What will the relationship of humans with robots be like? Will robots replace Human relations or be used as artificial intelligence machines only? Ishiguro does a great job of helping the audience visualize a world with robotic friends in it.

4. Hamnet ( by Maggie O’ farrell)

This novel is for Shakespeare fans. O’ Farrell has built her story around two facts we know to be true about ” the bard”.

The story shows his son to die at the age of 11 and his wife to be a supernatural element in the story. The story and the plot are full of mystery, suspense, and curiosity. It’s worth a read.

5. Project hail Mary ( by Andy weir)

It’s a whole science fiction piece. It narrates how one day a school teacher out of the blue reaches a star world without any memory of how he got over there.

The rest of the story is spent illustrating how he uses his scientific knowledge and theories to spend his day and get out. It’s fun reading it. You could easily finish this book in one go.
