Ireland announces € 1.5 mn scholarship for Indian students.

TED NewsDesk, London: The Government of Ireland, in a statement via Education in Ireland, a government agency, announced scholarships worth €1,500,000 for Indian students aspiring to study in Ireland.

A virtual showcase is being organized by education in Ireland on February 27, 2020. The showcase aims to give the students a platform to clear their doubts, get information regarding the admission process. Most of the scholarships will be in the form of fee reduction for students.

The showcase will see participation from 20 institutions of higher education from Ireland. The institutions are offering undergraduate programs in business, science, engineering, and humanities, the statement said.

An additional €30,000 scholarship has been announced and will be given to 10 students who attend the online event.

Giles O’Neill, director of Education in Ireland said, “There are various choices with regards to scholarships. Firstly, the higher education institutes of Ireland themselves are offering merit-based scholarships. Besides, Education in Ireland, as a national brand, will be giving scholarships to 10 Indian students on the day of the showcase. Each of the scholarships given is worth €3,000 for a fee reduction. “Sixty scholarships will be provided for one year’s education at Bachelor, Masters or Ph.D. levels to qualified candidates”, he added.
