TED NewsDesk, New Delhi: In collaboration with California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) plans to facilitate skill seekers with 200 free courses in India. The association will lead to the incorporation of eSkillIndia.org with CSULB’s Platform- MERLOT and Skills Commons to spread online education amongst the youngsters.

The courses will include various fields such as healthcare, management, finance, information technology, employability skills etc. These courses will help the trainers to level up their skills. According to NSDC, the courses will provide complete online content of a total of 900 hours between the range of two to thirty hours.

Commenting on the initiative, Dr Manish Kumar, MD & CEO, NSDC, said, “Online learning is paving the way for digital transformation. NSDC is facilitating the acquisition of online skills, which can help realise the immense potential of youth to leverage existing as well as emerging opportunities.”

“Partnering with NSDC’s digital skilling initiative eSkill India to develop people’s workforce skills employment in the 21st century is core to our mission. By providing free and easy access to industry-centered training materials, NSDC and California State University Long Beach can deliver online learning to all and improve the well-being of all,” comments Dr Gerard L Hanley, Executive Director, California State University (SkillsCommons and MERLOT).

NSDC launched the online skilling scheme eSkillIndia. Currently, eSkillIndia runs with 825 online courses from its associates. It further provides over 4000 courses, in multiple languages, linked through affiliate channels across different sectors.
