After completing high school, the concerned board offers the student 4 streams or courses majorly; science with mathematics, science with biology, commerce, and arts/humanities,  However with a slight chance in various boards for intertwining the subjects.

Science already is a mass manufacturer of engineers, although the expanding ambit of the corporate world is demanding the commerce minded students, Considering Arts/Humanities as inferior to other courses is still a major perception around the nation.

A middle-class mind usually aspires for security in a profession, avoids risks, and looks for a platform that offers more opportunities and therefore has an aversion towards humanities for their children though it is a fabled and an ironical mindset in the modern era.

Compared to science, 80% of engineers are unemployed as a consequence of compelling the students to choose their streams due to parental or societal pressure and therefore lacking innovation.

Also, the financial aspects of education Humanities education have been on a rise in private universities lately, such as Ashoka, but they are expensive.

It’s good if one can afford that but the top Central Universities like Jamia, AMU, or Delhi Universities have a lesser fee – almost negligible.

Today, even well-educated people are worried if their children demand opting humanities as their course, the reason for such prejudice is the lack of insightful attitude with an improper vision towards education.

Most of them are unaware of the career options which can lead to a well-dignified life with a handsome salary, usually what a parent aspires for their children

There is a prevalent stereotype of considering Arts as a Confined stream to offer limited career options. However in reality Arts or Humanities is a very diverse stream and mainly deals with subjects like literature, Sociology, Psychology, Political science, History; etc Students can choose from a plethora of career options.

After 12th,  Bachelor of Arts is opted by many students who are intrigued by a specific subject of humanities with a possibility of becoming an academician or even preparing for Civil Services.

A degree in Journalism is also revered in a democratic country like India. That would help a student learn skills that are easily transferable and useful to other fields, such as communications or marketing.

As well as learning how to write, you’ll develop skills in areas like video production, research, and media law. A more prestigious and professional course is considered to be of Law which can be pursued very well by a humanities student.

Apart from such well-known professional courses, the scope for creativity is always open and wide, offering courses like Fine Arts, fashion designing, business studies for a bachelor’s degree.

Although the rising unemployment in the country compels one to have a job-oriented attitude towards education, the creativity for innovations and skill development is somewhere lost in the process.

To make the population efficient enough and reach the heights we strongly need a different approach for choosing our career options.
