Some big technological advancement enabled by the rise of educational technology has incorporated a lot of new ways to help bring some transformation in the learning process of the schools post the pandemic.

After more than a year and a half, students are again welcomed within their school campuses as the COVID curve begins to flatten in most of the states. With a vaccination drive going across the country at a rapid pace, teachers and students are starting to gear up themselves with a back-to-school learning plan.

While the traditional one-classroom-fits-all kind of education method would still be relevant, but educators need to consider that the education system on the whole may require a transformation to accommodate the learning needs of all students.

Here are a few learning trends which will be seen in classrooms of the future.

  • Digitalization of Classrooms

To ensure there is no gap between imparting and receiving education, students and teachers moved online to ensure continuity. Even after reopening of the campuses, one can expect that teachers might continue using digital tools to shape their teaching even in physical classrooms. Learning now is just now confined to the four walls of a classroom. This can also help students to foster the love of learning through some new methods. For example, teachers can help students by some explainer videos that would help in better understanding for the learners.

  • Self-learning is the key

During the pandemic, the first step that a student had to take was to become a self learner. Students took the front seat in this educational ride explored engaging lesson formats like videos and got used to content customised to suit their learning needs. This will help students become active learners and might not need supervision in learning once they start going back to schools.

To maintain this continuity it is important to maintain an environment that motivates students to learn on their own. As students go deep into self-initiated learning, teachers can encourage them further through team discussions, quizzes, or projects related to the concepts that students picked up in their self-learning paths.

  • Changed Student-Teacher relationship

The closing of schools and other educational institutions has been a lot tougher that it was thought for students and teachers alike. But this has come as a blessing in disguise. It has opened up new ways of how teaching and learning happens. Teachers have become a mentor and a guide to students. With the help of tech-enabled tools, teachers are going an extra mile to help students in their learning process uninterruptedly.

On the other hand, students have also taken the onus and initiative of crafting their own learning journeys based on their size, style, and pace. Learning today has become more personalized. Students are showing keen interest and are actively taking charge of their academics.

It is yet to be seen whether changes in the learning methods in education post the pandemic era would turn out to be for the students and the teacher alike.
