TED NewsDesk, Bangalore: In a proud moment for India, the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore continues to be the top B-school in Central Asia according to a rankings list conducted by Eduniversal, 2020. To add to the Indian pride, other B-schools to secure a ranking in the Eduniversal are IIM- Ahmedabad, and IIM-Calcutta.
Eduniversal, an international organisation that rates various higher educational institutions, announced the prizes honouring the institutions at its yearly Eduniversal 3- D World Convention 2020. At the ceremony, Professor Rishikesha T Krishnan, who is the director of IIM Bangalore, commented, “IIM-B is honoured to be among the top three schools from Central Asia voted by our peers in the survey.”
IIM-B is the pioneer institute for management in India to provide a large number of Massive Open Online Course (MOOCs) ti its students. Additionally, it is also the management institute that is working together with the Study Webs of Active-Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) programmes that are conducted online on edX, as per IIM-B official statement.
The statement added that the ranking agency also lauded the institute’s exchange programmes for students which have many participant universities from countries from North America, Europe, Asia, Australia as well as South America. These partnerships give huge outreach to the B-schools and its students.
Through the huge effort of its teaching and non-teaching staff, the B-schools has continued its studies via online classes during the pandemic. IIM-B made sure that the imparting of education does not stop and that the students don’t waste their precious time due to the pandemic and the lockdown. Professor Krishnan added that the ranking and the prize is an appreciation of their hard work and foresight that will further their international outreach and “excellence in management, innovation and entrepreneurship.”
