TED NewsDesk, Haryana: Many students do not have the means to buy study material for various exams or even to attend regular school. For such students, the government of Haryana has decided to provide tablet computers so that they can study without any stress. The tablets, almost 8.20 lakh of them, will be distributed to students of government schools in Haryana who are in classes 8 to 12, according to a government executive.

The tablets will contain many resources for studying as well as textbooks, to help students learn more efficiently, the executive added.

Recently the Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal Khattar attended a meeting of the School Education Department. The meeting was held to keep track of the preparations made for the distribution of the tablets among the students. In the meeting, it was made clear that the issue of the tablets to students will be like library books, that they will be returned after the student sits for class 10 and 12 board exams.

The contents of the tablet vary from Edusat videos, DIKSHA online material, QR-code enabled NCERT books, Youtube videos made by teachers, question banks to various exams, study material for exams like NEET, JEE, NDA etc.

The executive added that all the study material will be contained in an encrypted data card. Such an arrangement will make it a lot easier for the students to study without incurring extra expenditure, prepare for exams by solving previous years’ question papers, give mock exams and learn via video tutorials as well.
